We  live in a world today that is highly competitive and stressful resulting in people losing their way in their quest for success. What can we teach our children to help them stand out from the crowd and be successful? How can we help them develop their personalities and help them evolve into great human beings?

For a person to become a successful human being they need to excel in the external world – their academics, careers and professions, and in their internal world – their strength of character, values and principles. Dagshai Public School was founded with the vision to impart true holistic education to help children succeed in all aspects of life. This philosophy led Sardar Raghbir Singh Bir to create a one-of-a-kind educational institute.

Sardar Raghbir Singh Bir was an avid spiritualist, social reformer and a successful businessman. He is best remembered for the dozens of books he wrote on spirituality, in the Punjabi language, based on his deep study of Sri Guru Granth Sahib & many other books on  religion & philosophy . All the books authored by him , have since been translated in English , for the convenience of the English knowing people , all over the world.    On great demand from the Hindi knowing readership, his master piece book, “Bandgi Naama”   has been translated in Hindi also.

His vision for an evolved system of education is achieved through :

DPS uses the principles of Divinity and its key values of equality, love, honesty, duty and devotion to provide a strong moral and spiritual foundation for the children, in the true spirit of universal brotherhood.”

Our admission procedure is simple. We admit students from class LKG to XI. We do not admit students in Class X & XII. Parents/Guardians are welcome to visit the school on a working day, see the layout, the environment and the facilities available on the campus. Prospective students and parents can purchase the school prospectus, fill in the admission form and register. After registration, the prospective student has to sit for a simple admission test to determine his capabilities. The test is conducted as per the general standard of the last class attended by the student. If the child is found satisfactory, then he along with his parents is required to have an interaction with the Principal. The test scheme is as follows:

• Class LKG to UKG – No written test, oral interaction only.
• Class I to V – English & Maths (1.5 hrs)
• Class VI to XI – English, Maths & Science (2 hrs)

Parents of selected children are required to pay the school fees promptly to secure admission. On a required date, the selected child must report to the school with all items/ clothing etc. as mentioned in the prospectus. Uniforms could be purchased by parents from authorised dealers at the approved rates.

The whetstone of any organisation is its finished product that poses as the assessment meter of both the quantitative and qualitative quantum of its eventual turn-out on the stage of life. Our variegated school ‘Products’, an energetic bunch of thriving, resourceful, successful, affluent and well-placed alumni are the constant pride of our school, that spark off resplendent flames of recognition and acclaim in the highly competitive outside world. They consist of MPs/MLAs, Army Officers, Police Officers, Film Directors, Judges, Lawyers, Doctors, Educationists & successful businessmen who are settled in India & abroad. Smart Classes

All secondary classes in Dagshai Public School are interactive classrooms with smart boards, networked computers and projectors. There is a huge repository of educational software, in various subjects and practically for every chapter in the course of study, available on the school servers. The classrooms are fitted with the latest and best equipment available so that the children get the best teaching aids to assist in making the teaching learning process most effective, through computer-aided-teaching . The syllabi is as per ISC/ICSE.

Computer Education

The aim of computer education in the school is to get the children acquainted with the latest in computer technology. The intention is to make the pupils user-friendly so that they can make best use of computers in the future. Adequate exposure is given to them in internet, hardware and software technology.

The school has installed a very powerful, highly technical, computer laboratory. Computer education is a compulsory subject for the students of grade I to VIII. Its main purpose is to keep them abreast with the latest technology and developments in computer sciences these days.

School Library

A well-stocked, informative library is available in the school. The library is often used by the children and has a wide variety of reference books, story books, newspapers, magazines and other periodicals. The library is an effective tool for broadening the horizons of the children and keeps them entertained, educated and well informed. Most importantly, it facilitates the development of the fast dying ‘habit of reading’. All Hostels have a Mini Library where the students read at leisure.

Laboratories 

Modern and well-equipped science laboratories are available in school . There is a biology, physics and chemistry lab in the school wherein the students get a chance to conduct the practical under the supervision of their subject teacher. In addition we have Math & Geography labs where children show their intelligence and aptitude. All Labs have the required essential equipment for conducting practical. The students take keen interest in conducting science practical and making science projects.

Educational Initiatives

Tests and Examinations:-

Children are tested regularly and continuously for their academic progress, Class-work, Home-work, Class-tests, Projects, etc. The report cards are given to the parents four times a year to apprise them of the academic proficiency and progress of the child. To maintain the high standards of education the expectations of the school are high and generally children secure good grades.

Parent-Teacher Meetings:

Continuous evaluation of the development of the students is of prime importance to both parents and teachers alike. It is in the best interest of the child that the parents and teachers form a cohesive team in working to achieve this objective. Hence, parents are constantly encouraged and are provided with opportunities to interact with the teachers and to assist and share in the progress of their children.

Winter Coaching:

For students of ICSE & ISC winter coaching camp of about a month is held to clear any doubts, revise their syllabus and prepare them for Board exams.
